This is to inform all the concerned that the donation in terms of relief materials shall be accepted at the Nepal Earthquake Relief Material Collection Centre, Kolkata only till 5:00 PM , May 11, 2015 , Monday. However, donors (institutional/individual) can continue donating in terms of cash as usual in the following bank account till next notification is made:

Relief Material Contribution
The Government of Nepal's present priority is corrugated galvanized iron sheets of at least 26 gauge size. The required total quantum is 3,00,000.
Dept of Customs, the Government of Nepal, has exempted, as per the last notification, customs duties on the designated relief materials to be effective till 26th May 2015. This is for the kind information of all concerned parties. As for specific details about the relief materials exempted and for any further query regarding donating relief materials, all interested ones are advised to contact to Mr Surendra Thapa, Deputy Consul General, 0091-9007715211 (M), 00911-33-2456-1224 Ext 202.

#PUBLIC NOTICE from Government of India, Office of The Commissioner of Customs (Port), Custom House, Kolkata regarding Simplified Transit Procedure for relief supplies destined to Nepal.
# In view of the successful accomplishment of the emergency medical relief phase and the resumption of regular health services, the Government of Nepal believes that the health needs of the earthquake victims now be catered by its own competencies. Hence, all the concerned are informed that no additional international medical team is required at the moment.
# H.E. Shri Chandra Kumar Ghimire held an interactive session at the request of Merchant Chamber of Commerce, Kolkata on 21st May, 2015, Thursday at The Somany Conference Hall of the Merchant Chamber of Commerce. Shri Ghimire addressed on the theme of ‘Status of Nepal after Earthquake’ with the chamber members. The session was chaired by former President of the Chamber Shri Deepak Jalan. HE Consul General of Thailand Mr Preecha Kaensa also had attended the session. Highlighting various facets of the losses resulting in from earthquakes of 25th April and 12th May 2015 and their fore-shocks and aftershocks, Shri Ghimire touched upon the way forward and future courses with respect to rehabilitation, restoration and reconstruction in the country.

# Additional Support from the WB Government
In response to the request made by the Consulate General of Nepal, the Government of West Bengal has agreed to provide additional 50,000 (fifty thousand) tarpaulins. Apart, 5000 blankets, 9 MT of beaten rice, 1 MT of Gur (Indian jaggery) and 1 MT of baby food also being provided. As per the information received, the cargo will be handed over at the Raxaul-Birgunj border.

# Public appeal of the Consulate General of Nepal, Kolkata
All NGO's and other charity organizations which are carrying along relief materials to Nepal are advised to get involved in relief works only in coordination with the designated local authorities i.e. District Administration Office of the Government of Nepal. Further to it, the Consulate General of Nepal in Kolkata has a Relief Materials Collection Center in active operation. To ensure better coordination, all donor institutions and individuals are strongly advised to deliver materials in the centre only.
# The Government of West Bengal has generously provided 1 (one) lakh tarpaulins for the earthquake victims. Hon'ble Chief Minister of West Bengal Ms. Mamata Banerjee herself flagged off and handed over 35 trucks loaded with tarpaulins to Hon'ble Minister for Urban Development of Nepal Dr. Narayan Khadka who was present on behalf of Government of Nepal over Mechi Bridge on 4th of May 2015. Following the handing over of tarpaulins, a press meet was arranged at Customs Office, Kakarvitta, where Hon'ble Dr. Khadka extended sincerest and highest gratitude for this generosity. In reply, Hon'ble Ms. Banerjee, expressing deep sorrow on this devastation and highlighting that India and Nepal share a relation of brotherhood, assured that Government of West Bengal is ready to extend further necessary help, if informed. The handing over ceremony and the press meet was attended by Hon'ble Mr. Kumar Budathoki and Hon'ble Mr. Rabin Koirala, members of Constitution Assembly from Jhapa, H.E. Mr. Chandra Kumar Ghimire, Consul General of Nepal to Kolkata, Mr. Kali Prasad Parajuli, Officiating Regional Administrator, Mr. Tej Prasad Paudel, Chief District Officer, Jhapa and Chiefs of Nepal Army, Nepal Police and Armed Police Force from the Nepalese side. Likewise, from West Bengal, Hon'ble Shri Goutam Deb, Minister-in-Charge, North Bengal Development Department, Shri Sanjay Mitra, Chief Secretary, Government of West Bengal, Shri Basudeb Banerjee, Secretary, Home Department, Shri Barun Kumar Ray, Secretary, North Bengal Development Department, Shri Suresh Kumar, Secretary, Disaster Management Department, Shri Punit Yadav, Darjeeling District Magistrate and other officials including chiefs of Security Agencies from West Bengal accompanied the Hon'ble Chief Minister.
